Description:
Carbide insert blades are plow blades with slugs of tungsten carbide brazed into the thickness of the blade. Carbide is an extremely durable substance that substantially extends blade life up to 20 times over standard carbon steel blades. These blades are made of steel with a carbide insert or overlay. This style of blade is designed for extended product life compared to standard steel plow edges. There are a wide variety of carbide insert styles that can be paired with the three main types of snow plow mounts (front, underbody, and wing). For best performance, the blade should be matched with the appropriate mounting application. An underbody blade should have a top bevel, whereas front mount and wing blades should be unbeveled square edges.
Body blade:
1. The blade shall be flat hot -rolled finished steel to meet or exceed specification for A36 or 1020 type steel;
2. Punching shall be 11/16”(or customized) square holes with countersink to receive 5/8”diameter plow bolts.Location and space will be done according to customer’s drawings.
3. The slot for the carbide inserts shall be milled in the center of the blade edge.
