Cemented carbide is a kind of alloy made by powder metallurgy with one or several refractory carbide powder as the primary component and metal powder such as cobalt and nickel as adhesive. It is mainly used for making high-speed cutting tools and cutting tools for hard and tough materials, as well as making cold working dies, measuring tools and high wear-resistant parts that are free from impact and vibration. In recent years, in the steel market is more active, whether import or export, sales has been relatively optimistic.
Characteristics of cemented carbide
Cemented carbide is characterized by high bending strength, impact resistance and good vibration resistance, which is suitable for low-speed rough machining of cast iron, non-ferrous metals and their alloys and non-metallic materials. At present, tungsten steel tools are mainly used for cemented carbide tools in China, and the hardness of tools is mainly determined by the content of tungsten. Cemented carbide is suitable for CNC cutting tools, such as reamer, milling cutter, drill, carving cutter, welding cutter, turning cutter and all kinds of non-standard cutter, etc. it is not suitable for household kitchen knife or fruit knife.
Hardness of cemented carbide
The hardness of cemented carbide can reach 86-93hra, even in 900-100 degrees can maintain ultra-high hardness, and has ultra-high wear resistance. Even at the temperature of 500 ℃, the hardness remains unchanged, and it still has a high hardness at 1000 ℃. Compared with common tool steel, the cutting speed can be increased by 10 times, and the service life can be increased by 5-10 times. It can cut hard alloy materials with hardness up to 60HRC.
