Precautions for tungsten carbide

Health hazards: Tungsten dust can cause bronchiolitis, bronchiolitis, atresia bronchiolitis and atrophic emphysema. Tungsten carbide can cause the proliferation of lung lymphoid tissue cells, and gradually appear sclerosis. The vessel wall was thickened and homogenized. The gastrointestinal dysfunction, renal stimulation and catarrhal inflammation of upper respiratory tract occurred in workers exposed to tungsten carbide dust. The maximum allowable concentration of WC is 6mg / m³. In the United States, the maximum allowable concentration of soluble tungsten compounds (based on tungsten) is 1mg / m³, and that of insoluble tungsten compounds (based on tungsten) is 5mg / m³.

Safety protection: use qualified gas mask, dust-proof clothing, gloves and glasses. Dust leakage should be prevented at all stages of production. Workers should have physical examination before employment, and they should have regular examination once a year. When obvious symptoms appear in upper respiratory tract, temporarily transfer to work and get out of contact with tungsten. In case of pulmonary sclerosis or external respiratory dysfunction, transfer from work.
